Derivatives Summary

Nifty (December)future has turned into a discount of 4.25 points from a premium of 10.05 points and 67,350 shares were reduced in open interest. Total open interest in the market was s100,940 crore and Rs2,687 crore were added in open interest. Nifty call option added 15.65 lakh shares in open interest, whereas put option added 25.20 lakh shares in open interest. Nifty PCR(OI) is 1.45. Nifty PCR(OI) is increasing sharply …………........… On Nov 27 1.27, On Nov 30 1.30, 1'st dec 1.37 & yesterday it was 1.40 now today is 1.45.

on 2'nd Dec 2009:-
Nifty opened the day on a positive note but started losing momentum after early trades. The index made a low of 5104 but this level turned out be a very good support. After moving in the wide range of 45 points, Nifty finally ended the volatile session almost flat at 5123.Volume in Nifty future was significantly lower than the previous trading volume. Around 67,350 shares were reduced in the open interest with decrease in the cost of carry, indicating profit booking by long traders. On the option front, implied volatility has remained almost flat in spite of the big moves, pointing towards uncertainty in the coming days.
